We have epic news

Medusa Group, a leader in gastronomy in Slovakia with nearly 50 operations in Slovakia, in the Czech Republic and Austria, and Ministry, the operator of the legendary clubs in Banská Bystrica and Zvolen, as well as the world provider of professional sound, lighting and lasers are joining as business partners to open a large, modern state-of-the-art club in the very centre of Prague.

Opening the night club called Epic is scheduled for the end of the year. "The vision of the nightclub in Prague has been addressed internally for almost three years. This is a very demanding project that we see it as our key one for this year believing that our long-term effort and energy that we have put into preparations will turn into a functional and successful concept that will bring something new to Prague's nightlife", says Peter Štecko, CEO of Medusa Group.

Ministry had also envisaged expansion into the Prague market. Ministry of Fun has been running its nightclubs in Banská Bystrica and Zvolen successfully for 15 years and the clubs have also guested the performances of the world famous DJs such as Hardwell, Paul van Dyk, Nervo, Don Diablo, W&W, Above & Beyond, Markus Schulz, R3hab, Fedde le Grand, Laidback Luke and many others. Ministry Rental Service, successfully operating for more than 20 years, has been providing Prague with popular dance parties Transmission and Magnetic Festival for several years and has participated in events abroad such as Sziget (Hungary), Ultra Europe (Croatia), Transmission (Bangkok, Melbourne) and has been conducting a multimedia show on the islands of Maldives for several years, as well. In Slovakia, it provides complete technical services for events such as Miss Slovakia, Miss Universe, Slovak of the Year, Footballer of the Year, Festival Východná, SIAF Air Days and many others.

"The Prague market has been attracting us as an opportunity to establish another club for a very long time. However, finding the right venue at the right address is a great challenge. You need to consider plenty of important factors, ranging from the financial investment, the suitability of the property to the attractiveness of the location. By the end of 2016, we learned about the ongoing project of Medusa Group and decided to address them for possible cooperation", says Rudolf Tuček, General Director of Ministry.

The joint meetings and discussions taking place between the two companies for almost a quarter of a year resulted in a contractual partnership and the establishment of Epic s.r.o., with a common share of Medusa Group and Ministry.

"The partnership was not planned; however we deem it very positively and we believe that the club will multiply the chances of its success and popularity with both residents and tourists. Both our companies have many valuable experiences after many years of business, which are also meaningfully added to the Epic project", says Peter Štecko.

The Epic Club will be on the street called Ulice Revoluční, just a short walk from Prague's longest, most famous street, synonymous with nightlife. The entire space is located on 3 floors underground and capacitively accommodates more than 1,000 guests in its two interconnected sections including a gallery.

"We are currently finishing the design of the most advanced ergonomics of space and design so that we can make the most of this unique space. As for sound, LEDs and laser equipment, Epic will be equipped with the best. The club will employ the L-Acoustics K2 sound system, more than 100 square meters of P 3.9 LED screens and the most up-to-date lights”, says Rudolf Tuček.

The Epic Club will be the first foreign operation for Ministry and the third operation in Prague for Medusa Group. Its opening is scheduled for the end of 2017.
